3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Tour
This 3 days gorilla safari offers visitors one of the most remarkable wildlife encounters found in the forests of Bwindi Impenetrable and Virunga National Parks with an impressive list of bird species, butterflies with mammals including several primates. The community walks around the forests provide an insight into the lies of Batwa people.
Day 1: Entebbe – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Today you will be picked by our guide from your accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe after which you embark on your journey to the famous Bwindi Impenetrable National park a journey that crosses the Uganda equator line. This park is most famous for the rare mountain gorillas and the drive to the park is incredibly scenic, passing through various local villages and the lush green countryside & hills which characterize so much of southwestern Uganda.
Once you are in the forest park, it is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and the diversity of species is a feature of the park. It provides habitat for some 120 species of mammals, 348 species of birds, 220 species of butterflies, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos, and many endangered species. Floristically Bwindi is amongst the most diverse forests in East Africa, with more than 1,000 flowering plant species including 163 species of trees and 104 species of ferns. Your accommodation here shall depend on the gorilla permits availability.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking.
Today you go to track the rare mountain gorillas.
After a briefing from your ranger guide, begin tracking the mountain gorillas through the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This can take a couple of hours or a whole day depending on the location of the apes. Keep an eye out for forest species such as buffaloes, elephants, black-fronted duikers, and bushbucks. Don't forget to pack your lunches!
It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play, and bond with their young. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest and discover their gorgeous natural habitat and the many species they share it with.
You will track from one of the Gorilla groups that will be near your accommodation in Bwindi depending on availability. After a well-earned trip to the gorillas, you will retire to your accommodation for overnight. You can rest your tired legs and restorative massage, offered from the gorilla experience.
Day 3: Drive Back to Kampala or Entebbe.
After breakfast, drive (10 hours’ drive) back to Kampala including the stopover for en-route lunch and the equator if you happen to have missed it on the first day of your trip. Your guide drops you back at your accommodation in Kampala or at Entebbe for your flight
