Built upon a rocky outcrop with jaw dropping views across Lake Mburo National Park, Mihingo is run with only a small number of guests at any one time. As such, it is one of the few lodges in the park that offers a real home away from home. Its rooms are spacious – partly made of canvas and partly Eco-friendly materials. Its good ventilation allows in lovely breezes at day and astonishing sounds of the animals at night.
One of the things that make this lodge truly special is its attention to small details. Your coffee will be delivered in a picnic basket. From breakfast to dinner, all meals are prepared with fresh local produce and served by a team that is attentive and polite. You will learn from them a lot about Uganda.
Its poolside and terrace of the rooms are a great place to relax after a game drive. Nature around it is quite modest but this isn’t much of a problem as you can walk down to the waterhole to see zebras and other animals up close.
The lodge is famed for having a stable with horses than one can use for exploring the park—in case they want an alternative to game drives.
Here, you will also find a lovely gift shop where you can purchase authentic handmade crafts and souvenirs.
